The first lesson: know the unknown
How it works…
Get a foothold in the Deep Web. Our name “Deepweb1” gives us a voice in the actual Deep Web, that’s why we’re called Deepweb1.
The Deepweb1 group of sites can be used as an entry point or search engine for browsing the Internet – the whole Internet including the Deep Web.
We monitor response via our profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and then refine our search of the Deep Web accordingly
The Deepweb1 sites provide a valuable in between. In between the surface web and the deep web that is.
Each of the Deepweb1 sites create a slice of Internet or rather an idea and it’s the idea that creates a foothold on the World Wide Web or what we call the Metaphorical Internet. The Metaphorical Internet is halfway between the surface web and the deep web.
So including the Deepweb1 sites there are seventeen “lucky” sites that form the backbone of the deep web or Metaphorical Internet.
2. The Canoe Zoo Cafe – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Previously Burning Frog Island, Vietnam, The Canoe Zoo Cafe, Africa is very special. It formed the place holder or Lorem ipsum for Big Tree Harare, that is, 11 Lyndhurst Rd., before we found the name “Big Tree Harare”. So The Canoe Zoo Cafe, is the historical name of Big Tree Harare. It used to be called Burning Frog Island, Vietnam because of the “war” fought at 11 Lyndhurst Rd. and the many toads in the garden here in the summer. I still fondly call the kitchen in the White House at Big Tree Harare, The Canoe Zoo Cafe in honour of its place in the history of 11 Lyndhurst.
To put it simply 11 Lyndhurst Rd. became Burning Frog Island, Vietnam which became The Canoe Zoo Cafe, Africa which became Big Tree Harare and Big Tree Harare stuck. We still maintain profiles for The Canoe Zoo Cafe and Burning Frog Island for historical clarity.
Given the above, we can look at the name The Canoe Zoo Cafe, with the perspective of Burning Frog Island and Big Tree Harare.
I like to say there are no zoos in Africa or that Africa is like one big zoo. I like to think of the canoe and its historical roots in Native America where the canoe comes from. And further from that of the racial similarity of Africans and Native Americans as people of colour collectively. The “cafe” is what I call a Native American smoke signal, and thus I call a joint or a hand-rolled cigarette a Canoe Zoo Cafe. Above all it’s a metaphor or explanation of an inexplicable idea. Another thing: vegetarianism and veganism – The Canoe Zoo Cafe cooks vegetarian meals. Need a “zoo” or a “smoke” vegetarians?
3. Libra Balances The Books – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Libra Balances The Books is the publisher of my books. The name Libra Balances The Books contains a personal story. Personal to me, Jonathan or Speak, that is. My father, recently passed on, was a Chartered Accountant and my mother (who’s still alive) studied to be a librarian at university. Also my mother and my sister are both Libran Sun Signs. From a bit of word play I came up with the name Libra Balances The Books. Libra of course is the Sign of the Scales.
As our online sites say “We are a free thinking collective publishing materials of educational, social, economic and political significance.” Admittedly it’s a bit of a mixed bag. But the name itself gives one room to ponder. I also wanted to highlight Gemini and Aquarius the other two Air Signs. Gemini Peak in the Chimanimani Mountains and the Age of Aquarius in modern philosophy. Libra was a bit left out in that situation – enter Libra Balances The Books.
4. dr OF – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
The Doctor. Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Psychology. Equality in type. The need to represent upper-case and lower-case especially within the professions. That’s where “dr OF” comes in. It affords representation where previously there was none. Like all the Deepweb1 sites it’s a missing piece of the puzzle. In my story dr OF became another way of saying Lorem ipsum. And the dr OF documents (included in the book Sunwhere in Africa) are an example of Lorem ipsum taken to the extreme.
Also dr OF provides a much needed voice with the Doctor. i.e the Medical Doctor. It also provides the typist with a voice when faced with writing any text. It provides the typist with a way to say Doctorate of Typing. So Lorem ipsum, plain vanilla text and so forth.
5. In Tune with the Universe – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter – Tumblr
There are a few essentials of the Deepweb1 sites. One is location, location, location. Another is the night sky. Location is inevitably Big Tree Harare and therefore the night sky from Big Tree Harare. Mind the trees blocking your view of the night sky. The night sky is a central point. In the modern world there is a fundamental lack of representation for the night sky – to the extent that “there’s nothing there”. As with the surface web versus the deep web needing representation so too do location and the night sky require the same. Big Tree Harare helps us represent location i.e. 11 Lyndhurst Rd., where I live. And thus how do we do the same for the night sky? In Tune with the Universe and The Laniakea Inky Blue help us identify the “blank space” that is the night sky. In Tune with the Universe takes a philosophical view whereas The Laniakea Inky Blue identifies an actual “part” of the night sky in the Laniakea Supercluster – of which the Milky Way Galaxy is a part. I thought In Tune with the Universe would be a nice blogging site and so it is the personal blog of myself, Jonathan N. Wakeling.
6. Jonathan N. Wakeling – Artist, Psychologist – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter – Linktree
This is where Deepweb1 starts with the fundamentals. Any good piece of Shakespeare has its Hamlet. And so Jonathan is our soldier. Jona is what I was called growing up – to the extent that I hated it and now I call myself Jonathan: Jonathan N. for Nicholas Wakeling to be precise. Jonathan also known as Chief Speak-a-little-French, US Soldier, also known as Picasso Three, Artist, Psychologist, Writer or more accurately Designer, Presenter, Actor, Artist, Writer, Typist, Poet, Psychologist, Computer Techie, Social Media Expert and Musical Spirit. So as is the case with Big Tree Harare and its former names so Picasso Three has his history. Until I become more widely known as Picasso Three, I remain, Jonathan.
7. Chief Speak-a-little-French – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter – Linktree
Chief Speak-a-little-French is our archetypical US Soldier and the name I have chosen as a nom de plume – should I wish to use it. It is a name imbued with history just as France and the French language have their history. I was born in Alberta, Canada which is English speaking Canada. And I thought how would I as a Caucasian relate to Native Americans. That’s where I came up with the idea of calling Native America France and its natives French. Chief Speak-a-little-French is my way of “breaking the ice” with Native Americans to put it plainly. Chief Speak-a-little-French, proudly Native American. US Soldier. Just as we all need a bridge with foreign cultures, so there is a need for a diplomatic bridge between nations. A US Soldier is to Canada and the States that sort of bridge.
8. Big Tree Harare – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Big Tree Harare is 11 Lyndhurst Rd. As stated on our sites “We are a homestead with an interest in the Zimbabwean Community and environmental concerns.” And that much is true. First and foremost we are a homestead. But Big Tree Harare, previously The Canoe Zoo Cafe, previously Burning Frog Island, is much more than just a place where we live. The buildings on the “private” property that is 11 Lyndhurst, are imbued with history. The Rondavel in particular was build in 1911, 110 years ago. It was thus from Vietnam and talk of a US Soldier that I thought of the need for representation. The main house on the property is painted white and so I jokingly thought it would make a talking point to call it the White House. The Rondavel thus became the Kremlin. Also with the night sky (which I see as an environmental concern) of particular interest to me I thought of the space race and the cold war with the US and Russia naturally taking sides. That’s how the room I stay in became known as NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), and various spots in the garden took their names. Reference the Map of Big Tree Harare – Phoenix is now Biden Park to honour a Democrat-Republican politic and Idaho is now Cornelia Street to horour the musical side of Big Tree Harare via the Taylor Swift song by that name.
Big Tree Harare takes its name from the Big Tree at Victoria Falls, a famous baobab. And at the same time honours my (Zimbabwean born) sister’s university degree in botany and her interest in trees.
9. Sunwhere in Africa – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Sunwhere in Africa aims at networking National Parks in Africa with safari operators on the continent. It takes its name from my book by the same name (co-authored with Speak-a-little-French). The wordplay of “somewhere” versus “sunwhere” is meant to include the “African Sun” on the one hand and the son/sun wordplay on the other. That is, I am my mother’s son. And so my parental relationships get represented properly – a fact of life and a crucial factor in this entire story of the deep web. It is also trying to say that where we are located is purely by chance and that in truth we could be anywhere on the vast continent of Africa.
10. The Laniakea Inky Blue – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
If we could state our “address” it would be Big Tree Harare, somewhere in Africa, in the Laniakea Supercluster. The Milky Way Galaxy where the Solar System is, is in the Local Group of galaxies which in turn is in the Laniakea Supercluster – our “cosmic backyard” so to speak. That’s how I came up with the idea of “slamming” names together, that is, the Laniakea Supercluster and the “Inky Blue” also known as the Night Sky. This is because when we go outside at night and look up at the heavens (or the Inky Blue) we are actually looking up at the Laniakea Supercluster – our little corner of the universe. Laniakea is Hawaiian for open skies or immense heaven.
11. Burning Frog Island – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Burning Frog Island, Vietnam. What comes to mind when I think of 11 Lyndhurst Rd. is “our own Vietnam War” and “our little piece of freedom”. It wasn’t, but as time has gone on Big Tree Harare has become and “island” of hope, and so lives up to its original name. Snakes, frogs and other wildlife at Big Tree Harare – we’ve certainly had our fair share of nature. I duly note the relation to French cooking that comes to mind “burning” frog’s legs – and I see it as a somewhat unfortunate relation, although also quite useful for Chief Speak-a-little-French. For myself, Jonathan, I feel like I’ve been through “Vietnam” in relation to life on Monavale Hill, where Big Tree Harare is situated (see Nhema Gunyana and my mental illness). It has not been an easy time and the wild natural surrounds also brings to mind a place of extremes.
12. Troisième Little Girl & ent09 – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Massively Multiplayer Major League Online Gaming…
Finding a voice for Speak-a-little-French was no easy task. Without translating everything to French, which is impossible to do without loosing meaning, it was very difficult to represent the French language and thus our US Soldier, Chief Speak-a-little-French. Troisième Little Girl or Third Little Girl in English comes from my third born sister on the one hand; and the opposite of Little Boy the name of the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima on the other hand. Thus a representation of France in the Second World War gets properly heard whenever Troisième Little Girl is mentioned.
With Camp Zero and Camp Nhema Gunyana the need to represent a tent was essential. I thus found by “doctoring” the word “tent” we could kill two birds with one stone. To the “nine” from 9/11 and the blank space of 11 Lyndhurst Rd., was added a zero and so we get ent09 – a code word. I found it useful to reference Treebeard the ent or “treeman” in the book Lord of the Rings.
Troisième Little Girl became Superhero Troisième Little Girl and ent09 became Commander-in-Chief ent09. Troisième Little Girl became Fair Maid of Ireland Troisième Little Girl and ent09 became Ball of Wildfire ent09, both a reference to ignus fatuus.
With Troisième Little Girl as my sister, ent09 naturally fell on my older, first born, brother. There are only the three of us. I the middle born became Secret Agent Basra Reed Warbler – to highlight my mother’s interest in birds and the war in the Middle East that resulted from 9/11.
13. Picasso Three – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
It only becomes more difficult to describe as we continue with these. Pablo Picasso was definitely a mentor of mine when it came to my training and interest in the fine arts. Originally the “three” came from a wordplay on “tree” as in Big Tree Harare, and also the three of us kids of most importance. In art the law of threes and thirds is also a direct relation to Picasso Three. However it is also because of my applying the arts to the sciences like astronomy and psychology that Picasso Three originates.
As I say in my bio, Picasso Three is an Artist, Psychologist, Writer or more accurately a Designer, Presenter, Actor, Artist, Writer, Typist, Poet, Psychologist, Computer Techie, Social Media Expert and Musical Spirit. I’m the famous artist three times over.
14. PNI Empowerment – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
PNI is one of the most complex “sciences” of the modern world. It’s as complex as astrophysics, brain surgery or rocket science or even more complex. Within PNI (commonly called psychoneuroimmunology) are philosophy, medicine, psychotherapy and much else besides. The cheat sheet says that PNI is how thoughts and emotions affect the immune system through neurological pathways.
Through the PNI based Personal Empowerment workshop I coined the term PNI Empowerment. PNI Empowerment is a group psychotherapy and can also be applied to individuals in one-on-one therapy, although due to group dynamics, group therapy is recommended.
Some of the techniques of PNI Empowerment are overcoming fears and developing a passion for life. Personality shadows patterns or coping styles and unfinished business are among some of the methods used in a workshop.
To put it simply without a solid grounding in psychotherapy via PNI Empowerment I would not be where I am today nor would I be able to write this “biography”.

Black September: September 11th 2010. Translated into Shona, Black September is Nhema Gunyana. To distinguish it from the Jordanian Civil War we first thought to translate it into the French and then thought, because it occurred at Big Tree Harare, the Shona would work best.
Nhema Gunyana was the moment on September 11th 2010 at Big Tree Harare that I “officially” became mentally ill. Visions, hallucinations, voices along with an indescribable physical disability were to become a fact of life for me since “Black September” 2010 to the present (although it’s no longer a physical disability). The adjustment to the new status quo during the month that followed Nhema Gunyana was actually a “war” on many levels.
Overcoming this “mental illness” also know as schizophrenia, has been a personal victory for me over the last decade.
16. ProudlyZW263 – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
Because we are talking from an American point of view as a US Soldier, it becomes very important to properly represent the country we live in. On products and the like we often see Proudly Zimbabwean, and separately ZW or 263. To tackle both issues we decided to combine the country code ZW with the telephone code 263 to create an even stronger reference to Zimbabwe in ZW263. As we shall see in the Proudly Net, it is applicable to any country in the world.
17. The Proudly Net – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
The Proudly Net combines country codes with telephone codes to create unique country IDs to be used for national pride. It is because the resulting references are “bulletproof” and “watertight” that we prefer the codes to using one or the other or neither. #ProudlyUS1 for America and #ProudlyRU7 for Russia are examples, rather than just saying Proudly American or Proudly Russian. ProudlyZW263 for “Proudly Zimbabwean” is our “guinea pig” of the Proudly Net.
18. Camp Zero – Facebook – Instagram – Twitter
#CampZero is the President’s Computer whereas #Deepweb1 is the President’s Web Browser – both work on the Metaphorical Internet and form a handy “one” and “zero” in binary code. They are very useful for modelling off and for route finding. Camp Zero indicates a physical location, i.e. the location the President is in when using the Internet. Deepweb1 indicates a location on the Internet itself.
Conclusion
From Picasso Three to Big Tree Harare, from Jonathan N. Wakeling to the Laniakea Inky Blue. These sites – eighteen variations of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all in all – begin at the end and start in the middle. Location, location, location, representation, representation, representation. The First Amendment. And indeed from Chief Speak-a-little French to Troisième Little Girl and ent09 the freedom to speak on matters as diverse as war and peace, religion and freedom of press are attended to. I hope this brief introduction to Camp Zero and Deepweb1 has been sufficient to enable the Internet User, yourself our dear reader, to browse the net in its entirety with an open mind and in an ideas focussed way. The Metaphorical Internet is as deep as the deep blue sea or as the night sky – this means we need to be equipped. And this small but powerful piece of the greater Internet should come in handy.
